Introduction of Daoism

Daoism is a native Chinese  Religion, with a history of thousands years. Like Christian culture in the history of Western civilisation, Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism form the basis of Chinese civilisation. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a strong connection with Daoism culture. Basic TCM theories, such as Yin & Yang theory, five elements theory, meridian system theory all from Daoism culture. It can be said without the existence of Daoism cultrue, there would be no TCM.

Quan Zhen E Mei Jian Pai Xuan Men is a branch of traditional Daoism religion. It is said was founded by XuShu in SangGuo Dynasty (220 A.D).

At the beginning, this Daoism branch wais only be transmitted in the Daoist Temple, from Daoist master to Daoist desciples, not to the public society.

Until to Qi Dynasty (2019 A.D),  this Daoism branch started to transmitted to laymen in the society. It was a very coincident moment Walter Wu met his master when he was at the age of 20, who is the 24th master of this Daoism branch.

The Core Theory of Daoism

The Core theory of Daoism is Dao (道) refer to  the fundamental laws that govern the operation of the universe. Chinese Taoism believe that the human body is a holographic microcosm of the universe, and that the laws of operation of the human body are the same as those of the universe. If a person wants to be healthy and have everything go well, his thoughts and behaviour must be in line with the Tao of Universe.

How to make yourself thoughts and behaviour in line with the universe principles? The answer is practice. By correct practice, your body’s essence (精), vitality (气) and spirit (神) will undergo a gradual upgrade transformation. Through these process,  Yin and Yang energy are constanly further be harmonized, your physical body will be strengthened, any kinds of body disorders, ie diseases will be treated automatically, the mind will be more and more peace and calm, until to be enlightened to know the true meaning of universe principles.

The practice methods can be generalised as three steps. One is physical body movements, including DaoYin(导引), martial arts, etc. The second step is standing meditation. The third step is seating meditation.
